CII TS hosts meet on packaging innovations

Hyderabad: Trade association, Confederation of Indian Industry Telangana on Wednesday held the third edition of CII TS-PackCon 2023, a conference on packaging innovations. The topic of discussion was, ‘Shaping the Future, Enhancing Experiences.’ Packaging industry professionals, researchers, designers, marketers, and policymakers were part of discussions about upcoming trends and the challenges faced by the packaging industry.
Dr Rajat Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Environment, Government of Telangana, inaugurated the event. In his address, Kumar emphasised on the need for citizens to prioritise environmental sustainability and actively engage as its advocate.
“Quantifying the pollution caused by a polluter is a complex task. Technology offers potential solutions, encouraging industries to focus on developing more sustainable innovations to reduce their environmental impact,” he said. A Vani Prasad, Director General, EPTRI and Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana urged packaging businesses to embrace environmentally friendly technology. She stressed on the importance of industries encouraging end-users to reuse packaging materials.
In his welcome address, C Shekar Reddy, Chairman, CII Telangana acknowledged the pivotal role played by the packaging industry in the global economy. He mentioned that the industry is rapidly evolving due to advancements in technology, sustainability initiatives, and shifting consumer preferences.
Chakravarthy AVPS, Chairman, CII TS-Packon Conference highlighted the impact of the packaging industry across various sectors and he underscored that this industry exerts significant influence on economic growth. The conference featured a lineup of speakers, including Pradeep Chowdhry, Managing Director, Gemini Edibles and Fats India Pvt Ltd; Bhaskar Reddy, Managing Director, Creamline Dairy; Dayanand Reddy, Managing Director, Vasantha Tool Crafts P Ltd, among others, contributed their insights.
